I'll watch the Kentucky Derby just because. .. well because Johnny Weir is on it.
Except him and Tara Lipinsky, all the other announcers are pretty much stamped out actors. Bland, blah, boring, predictable, nothing burgers.
He is just "TOO MUCH !!" Which back in my day was the ultimate prop. I love watching him----
And I have changed my mind about Tara Lipinsky. She fits in just right.
GO MENDELSSOHN !!!!!!!!!!!

(4,483 posts)There was a brief tv series about him--Johnny Be Good, I think?--that might be available someplace. Very enjoyable.

(24,324 posts)He also has absolutely exquisite taste in clothes.
And nobody else could ever dress the way he does and pull it off... such panache.

(7,572 posts)Audible, the audible book company, promised that a free copy of "American Pharaoh" would be available to its readers if Audible won the Kentucky Derby.

(29,678 posts)it's on to HOCKEY??? SERIOUSLY???? HOCKEY???? I am so pissed, no tv coverage of the trophy presentation, no talking to the jockey, the owner NOTHING. UGH......NBC's coverage sucks. I tried to write to tell NBC how bad they suck, and they wouldn't publish my post. I probably shouldn't say suck so many times........but, THEY DO SUCK in post coverage.

Speaking of NBC folks, I saw that Eddie Olczyk hit the trifecta! I hope you bet lots on it, Edzo!
