Should be some Tapit colts with more of a distance pedigree looking to knock off Justify in two weeks. Probably be some gray horses in the bunch.

(7,349 posts)We shall see.....Justify will need to have his game on for the distance, but I read somewhere Smith didn't really give him the "go ahead" in the Preakness so.....
Would love to see another Baffert triple crown! 🏇

....at my age Im on the Also Eligible list. I could draw in at any time. Id love to see another horse do it. Not so sure how much I care about Baffert winning another one, though.

(1,607 posts)...ive thought about all you guys often.
I saw your Derby pick and I want you to know I was all over Mendelssohn too. I liked him, Bolt DOro and Justify.
Do you think Justify is beatable at Belmont?

(1,607 posts)....hes really gonna have to outrun his pedigree in the Belmont. Hes a wonderful horse and hes done nothing wrong so far and that makes it hard to bet against him.

(29,673 posts)Just something to ponder about. Secretariat had an average stride length of 25.3 feet. AP had 25.8, Justify has 26 and Bravazo has 20. The Belmont is a pedigree race but only those with that pedigree that has that kind of stride has the greatest chance.
Found this on the Belmont site in the comment section......interesting I thought. And still get goosebumps over Secretariats Belmont race.

....and yesterday he went 5 furlongs throwing down a bunch of 12 clips with 11 and change in his 3rd furlong. He galloped out 6f in another 12 and change. And he did it easy. Helluva a horse. He is as ready as he can be. Im hoping he does what no other Scat Daddy has done on dirt and he gets that mile and a half. I think he is gonna be in a serious dogfight with Hofburg that last quarter mile.
