I think it read 4th & 7th round picks in trade with Pats.

(17,865 posts)Of course the season will be delayed perhaps cancelled this year. I wonder if the Patriots will trade Edelman as well.
The Patriots will probably also deal Thuney because he is on the franchise tag. The Bucs should go for him as well.
You can pick Fournette for a song.

I'm now started to believe that system does grind on guys. Gronk left, but didn't really want to retire.
Brady's shopping himself around.
We've heard other ex-Patriots talk about it.
But, I kept thinking "How bad can it be if Brady's good with it for 17 or 18 years?"
Looks like I was wrong.

(65,160 posts)First, let me say that I'm among those that think the cheating thing is wildly exaggerated.
But, if they are cheaters, it would be easier to do it without the spotlight of high profile stars & constant success.
What 2nd year receiver isn't going to wear stick-em if they're told too.
Gronk or Edelman or earlier Welker could just say no.

(65,160 posts)I didn't catch the exact exchange, just Gronk, 4 & 7.
So NE gets a 4th for someone who wasn't going to play for them anyway.
Flipping a 7 for a 4 is probably not bad!

(65,160 posts)...has missed a year of beatings. And they've got some wideouts that are precise route runners so defenses can't just double the TE routes.
They won 7 games with a guy who threw the ball to the wrong jersey 30 times. That tells me those WRs are pretty good because 5,000 yards and 30 picks tells me those guys can go get it.

But those D-linemen are gonna eat him up.

(65,160 posts)I'd bet he gets used like an H. Or a very large slot receiver.
With the slimming, he may be too fast for LBs & still bigger than most safeties.
I don't really think they'll use him as an all purpose TE. Could be a drag to defend on 2nd & short or on 3rd down as TE, 2 sides and him in a deep slot. Assuming Brady's fastball is still high 80s, (it's not 96 anymore) they could have a really good offense.
Me, I'm most interested in the Trubisky/Foles situation with my Bears. Athleticism vs. Savvy! I suppose the competition could make Mitch learn some savvy. Nick isn't getting more athletic.
I think it's intriguing. We've had one QB that was voted to more than 1 ProBowl in my lifetime. That was McMahon and he left the Bears 30 years ago.
Having the possibility of having 2 guys on the team that have shown flashes of excellence is a big deal for Bears fans.

(65,160 posts)I heard a couple guys on ESPN (Riddick & Clark I think) both tossing out scheme thoughts and I kind of amalgamated.
I this it was Louis who also mentioned two tight end sets, but I'm not positive it was him.
