I knew without a photo you wouldn't believe this one about birds

X post from GD.

We see them every year. The marsh is just down the hill from us in plain site. But even with our telephoto lense shooting between the trees makes a good shot hard to impossible to get.

Two days ago we had another first at our feeders. A pair of mallards were eating corn out of the squirrels ground feeder.

I looked up one day quite by accident (these were the days when large flocks of all kinds of birds were a regular thing) and saw these large, white birds. I ran in to the house, grabbed my binoculars and saw them. It was mind blowing for me. Every spring I would see them. We no longer see large flocks of anything even during migration. It is sad. I lived in the perfect place, migration alley. We rarely see more than one or two birds at a time anymore. On the farm, only a few ducks every year on our big pond that was once covered with many species.

Sorry, I got off track. This is really cool. I am happy to hear that large numbers are still seen.
