You'll have to post photos if/when you see your owls. And, I didn't know DU had a birders group...I'm headed there now!

I also see OTHERs, and awaiting return of ospreys from their southern vacay spots, so will post.

You are IN the Birders group, Mama!

Our barred owls seem to find plenty of places to nest without our help. Every spring we get to listen to their conversations at night as they discussion family matters.

Here are a pair I saw this past Monday at the Circle B Bar Reserve just south of Lakeland, Florida:

They were roosting just off the main path nest to the parking and picnic area. A crowd of people were watching them, taking photos, and discussing the owls who seemed unconcerned by all the excitment.

am about to learn!

Happy my county Department of Natural Resources is active in these matters, and has found 'my' property to be useful. I suspect my landlord/neighbor informed them of many assets here. In southern MD, at confluence of a river and a creek.
