Sean Carroll vs William Lane CraigCarroll is a CalTech theoretical physicist. I am a huge fan boy. I am currently reading his latest book "The Particle at the End of the Universe". It's a damned good read.
William Lane Craig is a Christian apologist who is a seasoned debater. He likes to use science to argue Bible truth. He won't do so well against Carroll.
Posted here for those who are interested.
Looks like this happened Friday and the video is marked private. Hopefully it will become available.

(82,333 posts)I imagine Carroll mopped the floor with Craig and Craig wants to hide the evidence. But actually, this may have been decided before the debate. I would expect that it will show up eventually.
I really like Carroll and find Craig to be more than a little bit smarmy. (I've listened to many of his debates and he's not exactly an honest broker.)

(468 posts)Long history of it. Even his books are horrific. His "best" book, Reasonable Faith, gives any thinking person multiple reasons to completely disregard anything he ever says in the first chapter. The most prominent is that he states directly that if reason and evidence contradict the holy spirit (which he defined as not just the bible but that holy feeling you have as well) then the holy spirit always takes precedence. Just to squash your incredulity he was completely unambiguous about this point. The only redeeming feature of Craig's book was that he openly said it was directed at christians. It was the only completely honest part.

It's not Sean Carroll or William Lane Craig, but apparently the debate is ongoing with other people. I'm not sure how interesting these other people will be. I believe this is an active live stream: http://www.tacticalfaith.com/live-stream/
