Apparently bearing false witness is acceptable to slander your dead daughter, in the name of the Lord, of course:
http://www.cnn.com/2014/12/31/us/ohio-transgender-teen-suicide/
Here, her mom only uses male pronouns, of course, being a transphobic dipshit, but also claimed she never heard the name "Leelah" before and said her daughter only brought up being transgender once. Oh, and said they couldn't afford transition surgery, that's why she said no to that.
This post was found later, which directly contradicts what the mother said.
So the family is playing defensive, this mother is, quite simply, a piece of shit.

(7,670 posts)treat their child so horribly, their own flesh and blood? This "Mother" even had the audacity to call it "unconditional love", I don't think she knows what the fuck that means.
And of course, they have an explanation, one that many people simply like to deny can be a valid motivation, their religion. A religion that is pretty explicit in saying that families come second to God, that God makes people as men and women, end of story.
You know, transphobia, like all bigotries, can come from a variety of ideological sources, but only in religion do you have that added authority of a god thrown on top.

It must have seemed to Leelah that the whole world was against her. In that family, it was.
