Charlie-Charlie: Vatican exorcist warns of 'possession' risk

Charlie Charlie Challenge: Vatican exorcist warns of 'possession' risk posed by viral Mexican 'demon-summoning' craze

Catholic ghostbusters claim 'extraordinary demonic activity is on the rise' as kids around the world perform bizarre occult rite

A Vatican-backed exorcist has claimed anyone who performs the "demon-summoning" Charlie Charlie Challenge could end up "harassed" by evil visitors from the other side.

Spanish ghostbuster Jose Antonio Fortea said "calling on spirits" could end in disaster and warned people against taking part in the occult viral craze.

“Some spirits who are at the root of that practice will harass some of those who play the game,” he claimed.

But wait! There's more of this insanity, and not from the disreputable mirror:

Local Bishop Warns Dangers of Modern Day Ouiji Game

St. Louis.
Bishop Emeritus Robert Herman of the St. Louis Archdiocese is warning parents and kids concerning a popular new social media-hyped game called Charlie, Charlie.
Charlie, Charlie is a modern day version of the Ouiji board game, except this game involves children summoning a Mexican demon to answer their questions.
“Forbid your children, warn your children about the dangers of this,” says Herman. “This is not just an innocent game, this is opening up your spirit to evil spirits out there that can do you great harm.”
Two pencils are placed in the shape of a cross on top of a piece of paper with the words yes and no written inside the four squares formed by the pencils. Players then call on a Mexican demon named Charlie to respond by moving the pencils

What could go wrong?

If you regard stupid old (and young) deluded men as any kind of moral authority then you deserve what bullshit falls on you.

Oh, and Charlie-Charlie actually works, because science. No Mexican demons called Charlie (Carlitos?) of course but then only Fundies and members of the RCC would expect that.

Life is short: surely there are better ways to spend one's days. And, of course, since we get good at what we practice, we might as well practice worthwhile activities

I know I believe in all manner of things that don't exist: mercy and truth, for example; or the value of some green pieces of paper bearing Franklin's porrtait; or sometimes even the set ? of natural numbers. A Mexican demon named Charlie isn't one of those things.

Still, "if men define situations as real, they are real in their consequences" -- so one might want to be careful about exactly what one believes in

He either lets all kinds of horrific things happen to his children or he causes them. My dad isn't a god but he sure as hell did what he could to protect us.
