Nigeria bishop: Same-sex marriage against human dignity

According to the bishop, spiritual and moral values are being sacrificed in the name of scientific or societal development. With this perspective, he criticized same-sex marriage, and said that it represented the debasement of human dignity and aberration of societal values.

On the other hand, he claimed that “culturally and spiritually”, marriage is a union between a man and a woman, a truth ordained by God, and because it is a divine order, different sex marriage will always prevail.

Perhaps some of us won't be attending services in nigeria either?

Perhaps the bishop was just totally off the ranch?

Perhaps there is nothing about this in the official catechism?

This is reflected in all the churches, too. There has been a civil war going on in Anglican Communion since we elected our first gay bishop in 2003. The anti-gay contingent was led by the archbishop of Nigeria, Peter Akinola, but they have no power over us.

Nigeria was going to make homosexuality punishable by death, but the legislation was tabled.

Splinter echo churches?

I wonder, did they come up with it on their lonesome, or did they get a 'push'.
