Officials in Minnesota are revoking a resident's vanity license plate seen as offensive toward Muslims.
The plate in question reads "FMUSLMS." Soon after media reports appeared on the plates, a Department of Public Safety spokesman said they would be removed immediately.
Gov. Mark Dayton also issued a statement saying he was appalled by the plates and that the owner should be ashamed.
The plates were approved in June 2015.

(22,340 posts)You'd think they'd catch that.
Backward stuff always eludes them, too.

(22,340 posts)You know that? How do you know that?
I thought the latest was that the "new atheists" were horrible Islamaphobes. How can we possibly go against the atheist pope you appointed for us, Sam Harris, to support Muslims?

(22,340 posts)like we have to defend them when they are bigots? We get they are bigots at times.
But you seem to be indicating that those of us here that are atheists that are saying this license plate is bad because of bigotry would somehow uphold other bigotry against Christians and I wonder what possible reason you would have for thinking that?

(2,270 posts)until then. You wonder, really? I do see quite a number of atheist posters jumping to the support of other religious traditions but always go the opposite way if that tradition is Christian. Are you one of these posters, is that why you're so defensive?

Or are you just projecting again?

(19,705 posts)Sounds like your projecting again. The rage you demonstrate when anyone points out the hypocrisy of your positions seems to always elicit vile rhetoric. As demonstrated by the number of times your transparency page goes public.

(49,533 posts)I'd be equally opposed to it. Unless the person who got that plate mean FXians, i.e., referring to people who like the FX network.
You seem to have crafted a strange stereotype of an atheist in your mind, and project that on every atheist on DU.
I know cool Christians in real life, and cool Christians here. I also know of some pretty damn rotten ones in both places as well.
