The Catholic Church is in the headlines a lot lately. We need some Cathosplaining to understand why.

No wait, we don't need that at all. We can see what this horrible institution is doing as plain as day. It's a nice change not to have to deal with the deflection and denial.

Wouldn't you agree?

priests who did horrible things, and their superiors SHOULD HAVE excommunicated them and sent them to the secular police for punishment and they didn't. This new Pope seems to be trying to remedy that.

The Church has done and still does some wonderful things to help lots of people. Please don't condemn the entire institution for the sins of some.

as an organization actively campaigns in countries all over the world to deprive an entire segment of the population of their full human rights. Not "some priests". The entire institution.

Do tell us, please, how many soup kitchens it takes to make that not horrible.

The institution has been negligent and has conspired with the priests who did those "horrible things." And the history is older than I am. The corruption is deep, old and dank.

As for the wonderful things the church has done, I'll give credit to the parishioners. Some very good people call themselves Catholic.

because I realized the sole purpose of that rotten institution was the subjugation of everything female.

Well, except for those nifty dresses and cool hats the hierarchy all wear.

Still, they're in the headlines because the current pope isn't a business as usual sourpuss and he likes to go traveling.

He's still committed to upholding patriarchy with everything he's got.

Still, I can't wait for the next edition of The Adventures Of His Royal Majesty and The Toupée.
