Religion
Related: About this forumYou know, it could be that some people use religion as bait,
just to get people worked up about stuff. I don't know, but some folks are like that. Whatever works, I suppose...

(4,921 posts)And so you don't do the obvious deflection: I post in this group because I am interested and concerned about the impact that religion has on our government and society and, hence, my everyday life. And this is the group to post about those things.
On a related note, I DON'T post those things in the protected religious groups on here because they don't belong there. This is the unprotected group for discussion of ALL things religious. The good and the bad. Of course, that has been explained to you multiple times before, so, hopefully you learn that. If you want a protected Christian group, there are a handful of them. Have at it.

(42,641 posts)Interesting also that you felt the need to answer for another.

(146,317 posts)You asked me that question. I answered it. Now, why do you post here? If you demand an answer from me, please do me the courtesy of answering you own question. I a answered. Now it is your turn.

(4,921 posts)And telling you that you have had this explained to you multiple times is not an insult. It is a fact.
So, why DO you post in here? I answered the question. Your turn.

(33,587 posts)was insulting?
Or was that the best way you could think of to avoid answering?

(49,533 posts)You asked that of someone else, and they answered.
Common courtesy would be to answer it yourself.
Why don't you?

(146,317 posts)I have explained it on more than one occasion. I will do so again, although I know you have read it before, and have 'remarked on it. Religion interests me due to its constant presence and influence on our society. All too often that influence is negative. This group on DU exists for discussion of religion. So here i am.

(146,317 posts)than your previous one. It's a very clever twist on Descarte's famous statement. Substituting "I believe" for "I think" is sort of brilliant, in its own way...
I believe, therefore I am...
Interesting, although I believe old René might have argued with you on your choice of words. He was a "thinker," rather than a "believer," and might have argued with you with regard to your changes in his seminal statement.
