Ken Ham: Bill Nyes Show Is Inappropriate for Kids Because It Teaches Science
January 28, 2018 by Hemant Mehta
Creationist Ken Ham says that the just-released season two of Bill Nye Saves the World on Netflix is not appropriate for children because it teaches science.
According to two staff members for Answers in Genesis:There is not much new to say, except to point out again that there is some foul, inappropriate, and suggestive language, especially in the episode on STDs and superbugs (which also makes the misleading and erroneous claim that antibiotic resistance in bacteria is an example of evolution meaning, of course, millions-of-years, molecules-to-man evolution in action). The episode on mass extinctions, predictably, emphasizes a naturalistic view of earths history, including millions of years and biological evolution.
This show is certainly not a show for children. Although some observational science is included, the bulk of the show is dedicated to entertainment and pushing a secular worldview, rather than teaching science.
They say the show talks about antibiotic resistance in bacteria and mass extinctions yet somehow doesnt teach science. Because, in Ken Hams world, its not science unless it references a giant Ark and a talking snake.

(13,061 posts)Or at least that is what Ive learned here in this forum: that right wing religious bigots are authoritative sources and anyone who says different is a religious bigot.
Besides you cant prove the earth isnt 5000 years old. In fact you cant really prove that the earth exists at all.

Better to focus on religion, creationism, and guns. Whew, it's a good thing western culture is intellectually superior to those middle eastern countries that send kids to madrassahs.
They want to keep people uneducated, unemployed, and easily controlled.

(15,303 posts)PGIC - lots of good later reading material, such as "Patient Global Impression of Change" which seems rather dense for this AMs reading.
Perhaps the "Pussy Grabber In Chief" is more appropriate? Altho I don't know that dump is smart enough to be anti-science or pro-Ham.
Yes, I also love ferrets but my S.O. won't let me have them. They're a hoot around cats and dogs, of which we have plenty.
Ferrets are Cool
(21,107 posts)yes, PGIC is the latter. I wont refer to him by his real name...I cant stand it coming from my lips.
Ferrets are great, but not for everyone. I WISH so much that they were not sold in pet stores. They are often an impulse buy and when people find out that they require LOTS of attention and care, they want to get rid of them. That is why we have rescued more than 20 of them over the years. Yes, that means we have almost 30 graves around the edge of our yard, each with its own marker.
People think that cats are the most curious creature, but they have NOTHING on ferrets.
Take care my friend,

Mr. Ham, you are a manufacturer of misinformation, a peddler of falsitude, a veritable Iron Chef of unmitigated bullshit. You should be ashamed of yourself, sir. Not for being wrong- no, far better and brighter folks than you have been that- but for stubbornly and willfully plugging your ears to logic, critical thinking, and literally mountains of objective scientific evidence-- even as you use the products of science, reason and critical thought- like, oh, computers, electricity, and cheesy animatronic museum exhibits- to further misinform and de-educate. Im sorry that reality- actual, objective reality- is so in conflict with whatever 2 dimensional sunday school cartoon youve got playing on a loop in your head. The truth is, however, at the end of the day you are WRONG. Wrong on the facts. Heres a clue: Many good people are perfectly able to reconcile their theology with proven Scientific fact. If you cant, one of those things is logically wrong. And its not the science.
