Pope Francis – Russian-Orthodox Must Not Become Catholic

https://gloria.tv/article/QreU7Z7XnPj344CMtvhU8x7WH

During a May 30 meeting with a delegation of the Russian Patriarchate of Moscow, Pope Francis stressed that he doesn’t want Russian Orthodox to be become Catholics, “We will never allow ourselves to do this, I do not want it.”

Francis insisted that “in Moscow - in Russia - there is only one patriarchate: yours. We will not have another one.”

Here's another one:

Pope Francis blocks German bishops’ intercommunion proposal

https://www.lifesitenews.com/news/cdf-sends-letter-on-behalf-of-pope-francis-to-german-bishops-regarding-inte

Just one month after directing the bishops of Germany to reach a “unanimous” decision on whether a Protestant spouse married to a Catholic may receive the Holy Eucharist, Pope Francis has changed course and blocked the German bishops’ intercommunion proposal.

OK, I get the first one. He's the boss. He doesn't want another one and he doesn't want to share.
I'm kinda dissapointed with the second balk as it's a reversal of progress.

Believe very different things about communion. It seems reasonable that people from other faiths are automatically allowed to jump into other people's faiths without converting.

I find the second one to be completely reasonable.

And the language is very strange...the spouse is a protestant, but "affirms the faith of the Catholic Church"?

What's that even mean?

I realize it's the principal of the matter, but if she really wants to eat the blandest cracker man has ever created, all she needs to do is get in line. It's not like they card you or demand the secret Catholic handshake.
