Using religion to defend monstrous acts.

“I would cite you to the Apostle Paul and his clear and wise command in Romans 13, to obey the laws of the government because God has ordained them for the purpose of order,” Sessions said. “Orderly and lawful processes are good in themselves and protect the weak and lawful.”

Later, White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders summed up the same idea: “It is very biblical to enforce the law.

Does that prove that all religions/religious people are bad? Of course not. But it does show how people use religion to further monstrous acts and they wouldn't do it if it did not work.

There are a multitude of monstrous acts described in the bible, and nearly all of them are sanctioned, endorsed, or outright commanded by the Christian god.

FFS, when given the chance to universally condemn slavery, Jesus himself only gave instructions for how to treat one's slaves. What a lost opportunity for a god.

It would be one thing if people had to distort and lie about what the bible says, but sadly, they don't. It's all in there.
