If so, I hope they hear him loud and clear and take this opportunity to change course.

While not the best pope by any means, he didn't really do much harm, as far as I can tell, and I also wish him well.

today was his day and now he is not pope anymore. I think your response is over the top. I am asking you this because many Roman Catholics(which I am not) might find it offensive. Your response might correctly be well look at the stuff that happened under his papacy, but I ask you to change this response into words.

One should be able to express that if that is their feeling. If the many Roman Catholics on this site are not disgusted by the role this guy played in the cover up and shell game that was played with pedophiles, then I don't care if they are offended because someone doesn't like the guy.

I have no problem with the argument that Benedict was not a good pope because I agree with it. I left the RCC because they would not accept my being gay. So there is no love loss for me with the pope. I was wishing the pope well and thought that response was a bit much and i asked him to rephrase and it appears the answer is no. I didn't go alerting, I challenged the post.

and I get flack for that. It does not mean that I do not want justice and if he is brought to trial for his actions I would not be opposed to that. I said peace at the last and that means a peaceful end of his life meaning death.

I wished him well and know you think I am a horrible person. I have had 2 people put me on ignore because of it and I just don't understand how I am a bad person now.
