Myth, love and understanding.

I grew up in an Irish family. Most Celts, regardless of religious affiliation, would recognize the place of story telling in our families. Stories are our forte. We told and re-told the tales. In the course of events some changed. Some became myth.

Yet it was understood. There would be a side glance, a grin or an eye roll along the way. But the bottom line was love. And we all knew it.

I think that cultural context plays into my take on the religious stuff. And for others, as well.

As does this - An amazing performance on its own.

And some will scream "religious bigotry!" if you even use the word myth.

And are considered by most, if not all adherents, as literally true and historical fact. Jesus rising from the dead, for example.

that they are able to place myth in its proper context. Which is never its literal truth.
