He has taken a bad turn again. The doctor has him on a stronger antibiotic, but I feel like he's missing something. My son had a bad pneumonia 4 years ago and it didn't hang on like this.

I'm also giving you the same site I just gave icymist so you can search it. I looked at some of the hits for pneumonia, and saw some of the simple vitamin and mineral supplements for immune boosts and support. You can search on other terms as you see fit. If he's only on antibiotics, I don't think there would be any contraindications involved from supplements. But, I'm also not a medical professional, either.

Has he had his Vitamin D level tested? Vit D is so essential to lung health that the lungs have special Vitamin D receptors and studies have shown that Vit D defiency is often seen in pneumonia cases. The deficiency is extremely common regardless of how much time is spent in the sun. I have always commuted by bike so I have always had a lot of sun exposure so I was shocked several years ago when I found out I was low in Vitamin D.
I know how scary it is when a child is sick, no matter how old they are.
and am sending today for health and vitality. When he is finished with his course of antibiotics it would be helpful to give him acidophilus (in yogurt or supplements) to restore the healthful bacterial in the gut. (especially if he has diarrhea because of antibiotics)
