There is a certain blogger in Traditional Catholic circles

who specializes in criticizing anyone who he sees as departing from proper rubrics or his interpretation of Catholic teachings. He also tells people to go to confession more often.

Well, I sent a note to his "Ask Father" column chastising him for his nasty remarks regarding Italian nuns. He's said something to the effect that Italian nuns are incapable of lining up candlesticks on the altar. It was even more nasty in context.

So today when I went to look at his blog - all I can see is a blank screen. I never commented at that site, but I guess now I'm not even allowed to take a peak!

I occasionally look at his page to see if there's any news, but it's pretty ghastly overall.

I think that was the blog where I saw it suggested that acolytes should all have matching military style hair-cuts...his ridiculous quotations of authors with inane interpolations in red.

Best of all, I've had several errors in his liturgical directions pointed out to me (by those who know the old rite rubrics inside out)...so even on his pet subject (except in so far as birds and his cooking are his pet subjects) he's not reliable.

but I did enjoy shaking my head over the way he reduces Jesus Christ to total nonsense.

My Dad peeks in on ETWN occasionally, and he gets fussed that anyone looking for salvation will be totally repulsed.

His tips for extracting confessions from seminarians through subtle forms of intimidation are awesome.
