(Jewish Group) NGO distributes pamphlets on Israeli products to be boycotted

Ikatan Usahawan Kecil dan Sederhana (IKHLAS) admitted that they were currently distributing pamphlets on Israeli products throughout the country to enable people to boycott the products.

The non-governmental organisation’s (NGO) Kedah chairman, Sarjahan Abu Bakar, said the move was an effort to cripple the economy of the Zionist regime for what it had done to innocent Palestinians.

“As an NGO that is representing the public in matters with regards to small and medium businesses, we have already began distributing these pamphlets to some one million IKHLAS members in the country to ensure they avoid purchasing such products,” he said when contacted by The Rakyat Post.

Sarjahan added that he urged for the cooperation of all Malaysians to boycott Zionist products.

“People can choose local products over those manufactured by the Jews.

The reason I added this post is not because of the Israel/Palestine conflict, but rather the deceptive anti-Semitism used to support a boycott of Israel, which clearly targets Jews, not just Israel.

When the IDF is shelling hospitals, schools and places that are supposed to be UN protected areas is it really anti-Semitic to suggest boycotting Israeli products in protest of the actions the Israelis are taking in Gaza? When the IDF takes out the power generation plant and the water treatment plant in Gaza leaving the Palestinians without electricity or clean water is it really anti-Semitic to suggest boycotting Israeli products for that?

Seems to me it's the same as people have done to other countries that had terrible human rights records.

Not once does it use the words "Jewish Products." It uses the term Zionist rather freely. Not all Zionists are Jewish. In fact, there are a good many Evangelical Christians who are Zionists.

Since Israel claims to be a Jewish state then one cannot be offended when others also use the term Israeli and Jewish interchangeably. To any person reading the article I think the use of the phrase "Zionist regime" would clearly indicate Israel and its Netenyahu-led government. Also the phrase "...God willing, if we persist, we can cripple their economy..." clearly refers to the nation of Israel and not to individual Jews around the globe. It refers to a regime that many find to be brutal and ruthless with respect to the Palestinians. It does not call out Jews as an ethnic group that should be shunned. It calls out a regime that many are denouncing for its actions in Gaza and the West Bank.

You completely ignored my questions about whether it is okay to propose a boycott on a country that bombs hospitals, schools and the water supply of a people. It is quite clear from statements by the far-right Likud members that they have no intention of allowing Palestinians to exist. They clearly wish to push them into the seas or into oblivion.

On Edit:

Criticism of the actions of the Israeli government does not equal anti-Semitism any more than criticism of the US government equals being a traitor.

The fucking flyer says: Stop buying Jewish products

See that word...JEWISH...that is NOT the same as ISRAELI!

Since Israel claims to be a Jewish state then one cannot be offended when others also use the term Israeli and Jewish interchangeably.

So, in your estimation, sometimes anti-Semitism is acceptable? So it wouldn't be racist to say something racial about Obama because he is "the black president" and is often referred to in such a manner, including by those who are African-American?!

It does not call out Jews as an ethnic group that should be shunned.

Well, there is the flyer, then there is this, too:

“People can choose local products over those manufactured by the Jews.

That phrase is from the article you claimed you read, and BOLDED in the excerpt provided.

Criticism of the actions of the Israeli government does not equal anti-Semitism any more than criticism of the US government equals being a traitor.

Oh, thank you. I would have never known, even though I never said or claimed any such thing.

You completely ignored my questions about whether it is okay to propose a boycott on a country that bombs hospitals, schools and the water supply of a people.

Because it has JACK SHIT to do with anti-Semitism.

Maybe if the UN would not allow Hamas to to establish a weapons depot in the schools and stage attacks on Israeli civilians (on both Arab Israelis and Jewish Israelis) from schools and hospitals those schools and hospitals would not come under attack.

Just a crazy idea, you know.

with trying to boycott ANYTHING made by Jews. They very clearly are asking people to boycott goods made by Jews, not just Israeli's. Something else bound to be ignored here. Disgusting.
