Anti-Semitism In Charleston Shooter's Racist Manifesto Shows White Supremacy Is A Threat To Everyone

NEW YORK, June 21, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) said the Charleston shooter's newly revealed racist manifesto reveals "an individual whose worldview was tainted not only by racism but by hardcore anti-Semitism," and provides an added reason for the Black and Jewish communities to forge closer bonds in working to counter racism in America.

In addition to giving vent to hatred of African-Americans, Dylann Roof's alleged manifesto singles out Jews as a minority group that poses a danger because Jewish people are able to blend in and "look white" and are responsible for what he called "agitation of the black race."

"The problem is that Jews look White, and in many cases are White, yet they see themselves as minorities," Roof wrote. "Just like n------, most Jews are always thinking about the fact that they are jewish.… If we could somehow turn every jew blue for 24 hours, I think there would be a mass awakening, because people would be able to see plainly what is going on."

Abraham H. Foxman, ADL National Director, issued the following statement:

If in fact these are the authentic words of Dylann Roof – and there's little doubt he posted to this site and penned this manifesto – it is clear that he is an individual whose worldview is tainted not only by racism but also by hardcore anti-Semitism and deep-seated loathing of minorities.

who claim that this was "attack on Christians."

Does this mean that had the attack took place in a synagogue or a mosque that it would have been OK?

The right would have still likely marketed it as an attack on Christian values, they would have just utilized the prefix "Judeo-" like they do when they are trying to be inclusive. If it had happened in a mosque, I doubt there would have been any handwringing at all. The elephant in the room, as it were, is how many ignore the anti-Semitism. To some, it is considered nothing more than "white on white" violence and not important; tragic perhaps, but nothing to note in the way of bigotry. We would definitely see more 'distractions' in the way of discussions on guns, the 2A, perhaps even a few other side issues. Of course, for some, it would be nothing more than a jumping off point for derailment and "whataboutery" to bring up Israel, maybe even Zionism. We would be reminded how infrequent it was; reprimanded if any Holocaust reference were to be made; and chastised if we expressed fear or apprehension. Undoubtedly, there would also be the talking heads who would so "kindly" remind us how well "our people" do and ask "what role did we play" in the tragedy, as well as those "good souls" who would "tell us" how this wasn't really anti-Semitism, and we should be more careful in using the "anti-Semitism card."

The underlying nature of anti-Semitism in the white supremacist movement is often overlooked, ignored, dismissed, or treated as an anomaly. Roof talked about Jews becoming "blue" and how attitudes would change...not really; they are already there. Also, there would be no reason to "turn us blue", the Germans (and their collaborators) figured out a way to identify us without a change in our skin color; it didn't work out so well for us.

To even mention anti-Semitism is often a invitation to "whataboutery" of various types. No need to discuss it; it isn't a real problem.

U. Michigan Professor Blames ‘Far Right Wing Jews’ for Charleston Shooting

University of Michigan history professor Juan Cole wrote a blog post Sunday blaming “Islamophobes” and “far right wing Jews” for shaping the racist views of Charleston shooter Dylann Storm Roof, despite no evidence that was the case.

“The Muslim-hatred of the Geert Wilders and Marine LePens in Europe, for which Daniel Pipes, and Pamela Geller, and the whole Islamophobic network are cheerleaders and enablers, was a key influence on Dylann Roof, according to his manifesto,” Cole writes.

The problem is, Roof’s (alleged) manifesto doesn’t actually say anything about Pamela Geller, Geert Wilders, Marine Le Pen, Daniel Piper, or even Muslims for that matter. Rather, Cole seems to just assume that because the Roof came across racist European sites, he must have been influenced by them in some way. But there’s simply no evidence of that.

Juan Cole's article:

European Islamophobic Networks influenced Roof to Kill in Charleston

The Muslim-hatred of the Geert Wilders and Marine LePens in Europe, for which Daniel Pipes, and Pamela Geller, and the whole Islamophobic network are cheerleaders and enablers, was a key influence on Dylann Roof, according to his manifesto. These same hatemongers helped whip Norwegian white supremacist and terrorist Anders Brevik into a homocidal fever pitch in July of 2011, when he killed 77 Norwegians for allegedly being soft on Muslims.

---snip---

Ironically, some groups connected to the Islamophic Network are, like Geller and Pipes, Jewish. But their anti-immigrant, anti-Arab and anti-Muslim rhetoric backfired on them in Roof’s case, since he went on heartily to hate Jews, as well. Many American Jews, he held, are pro-African-American, and so he abhorred them, as well.

That far right wing Jews would be trying to teach white people to hate non-Christians boggles the mind, since nothing could be more injurious to the American and European Jewish communities.

But the biggest irony is that their agitation against European Muslims should have helped inspire Roof in South Carolina to kill 9 African-Americans.

You can look up the racist terrorist, Dylann Roof's manifesto at "The Last Rhodesian" by Googling "Roof manifesto". On Jews, he states (directly from the website):

Jews

Unlike many White naitonalists, I am of the opinion that the majority of American and European jews are White. In my opinion the issues with jews is not their blood, but their identity. I think that if we could somehow destroy the jewish identity, then they wouldnt cause much of a problem. The problem is that Jews look White, and in many cases are White, yet they see themselves as minorities. Just like niggers, most jews are always thinking about the fact that they are jewish. The other issue is that they network. If we could somehow turn every jew blue for 24 hours, I think there would be a mass awakening, because people would be able to see plainly what is going on.

I dont pretend to understand why jews do what they do. They are enigma.

So, what we have learned for the "intelligentsia" of 'Fox & Friends' is the crime was motivated by anti-Christian hate. Cole claims it is motivated by Islamophobia. Both seem to fail to understand it was MOTIVATED by RACISM against BLACKS! But somehow, Cole, in his demented, evil, bigoted, twisted way has blamed the Jews. Of course, there are those who think the same way and/or rationalize this bigotry as "he wasn't talking about ALL Jews" and other such nonsense. It shouldn't be all that surprising as many can't even get the definition of the word "anti-Semitism" correct, so one can hardly expect them to recognize it.

Like those who wish to turn the discussion away from racism to gun control, or those who wish to make this about anti-Christian bias/Islamophobia, the fact remains it is just another slap in the face to African-Americans, who were the victims, as apparently racism isn't worth discussing!
