Two Arab Israeli plumbers in the northern city of Haifa waived a NIS 1,000 ($285) service fee after learning their client was a 95-year-old Holocaust survivor.
Simon and Salim Matari, who are brothers, were recently called to the home of Rosa Meir to fix a major leak, according to Channel 12.
When we got there, we saw there was a large blast of water and we started fixing it, said Simon. At some stage, while working, my brother Salim started to talk to Rosa about her life. She told us shes 95, a Holocaust survivor, and that she has a daughter.
Her life story touched my heart. At that moment, I decided I wont take a cent from her.

(11,686 posts)to hurt people. I am in no way saying a lot of people have strayed from their religion. The few that have get all of the attention most of the time. It is nice to see stories about the ones who do follow their true teachings.
I do not understand why being happy to hear/read about the ones who are good is a radical concept.

(29,250 posts)Its a question of what a fanatic is. I think its fanatical to deny the reality of climate change, for example, and to believe that believers will be saved from it, or to think its a left wing hoax. Theres an incredibly large portion of the US population who believes this. Kindness and compassion are far lower on a lot of folks priority list than their religion would have them act.
We are all happy to hear about such kindness, but its sad that its becoming more rare, thats what I meant.

(11,686 posts)I probably just worded it badly. I do think there are more than we think that have stuck to their base but they are just afraid to let people know they are still there. It has become more dangerous to share our beliefs and opinions so some just remain quiet.
