I grow flowers that attract them. Haven't seen any monarchs yet this year (it's a little early) but I've started to see other species.

Also saw my first hummingbird on our deck last week.

That deck is buzzing with all kinds of insects. Not the part of nature I enjoy communing with, but of course they're necessary,.

And the bright red streak I've been seeing whiz through the air finally landed right on one of my window boxes long enough for me to get a good look at a cardinal.

The bluebirds are my favorites, but its been a few years since I've seen one.

Not anymore.

I see some butterflies. But, not like I used to.

Where are the cabbage butterflies this year? Not one so far. I've seen a few swallowtails and one monarch. It's early yet.

But, still, it's not like it used to be.

It's looked like a Hitchcock movie in here most nights, even when I shoo them out the front door around sunset.

It's a desert and there's a severe drought, so butterflies are pretty rare unles it's down by the river.

front yard I don't see many.

However, I see a lot more hummingbirds now that I have a trumpet vine in the back yard.

I saw the first one of the year (in north AL) at the end of May. Your weather may be different.
