Barry White's Angel Visits Me, Too (Original Post) Heddi Aug 2012 OP
That song reminds me of Mark Thompson. He plays it (or used to) for first time callers. nt valerief Aug 2012 #1

Murderer Hemy Neuman claimed Barry White was the DEMON who visited him.

The angel was...Olivia Newton-John.

But I agree with you. Neuman got that ass-backwards. An otherworldly chat with Barry White would be cool to the point of angelic.

OTOH...if I popped awake to see ONJ glowing in my bedroom, I'd assume I was being visited by a demon.

I don't think she would scare me too much. I'd just idly wonder why I was being visited by the Demon Of Mediocrity.

The most important thing to remember - this case had NOTHING to do with religion.

Neither do exorcisms.

on edit, it is said that Fred Astaire said Xanadu was one of his most favourite movies to work on/in

on edit edit: Somewhere in the ether is a picture of a wee Heddi, in striped knee sox and short shorts wearing red glitter roller skates, ca 1979 or 1980. My uncle owned a roller rink, and my family was big into roller derby in the 60's and 70's (watching, not participating I don't think). Why aren't roller skates more popular? Why did Roller Disco go away? Life was so simple when i was 5....roller skates, singing along to the Popeye movie songs...

I agree with you completely about roller skating. Even back in Mulebutt, South Carolina we had a roller skating rink. My Mom liked roller skating, so when I was a kid we used to go and skate. Usually with a gaggle of other local brats. It was a lot of fun.

Here's an example of what I was listening to circa 1980:

until I was about 16 or so.

I was wee in 1980

I lived in SC, too, ya know. I think we've talked about this. I Grew up in Chas. My husband is from Myrtle Beach/Conway. WHen his parents divorced his mom got a condo in Little River which was just down the street (maybe up the road?) from Jim & Tammy Faye Bakker's place.

OH! I saw Ric Flair at a shoney's buffet in Greenville, once.
