‘Djesus UnCrossed’ (SNL)
"The 'H' is silent!"
“Get ready for the ultimate historical revenge fantasy,” said a narrator on SNL’s introducing “Djesus UnCrossed.” In what was a Quentin Tarantino-eque, 1970s Blaxploitation take on a passion play, Jesus Christ rises from his grave … to take bloody revenge on the Romans who entombed him.
The mock film also featured a variety of Tarantino actors in classical biblical roles. The spectacularly gory trailer was called “less gory than The Passion of the Christ” by critics.
