All I can say is WTF!!! It's Sunday morning, I'm not drinking and decided to finish watching the third Left Behind movie. I have already been told that women should be submissive and obey their husbands and that an affair only involves kissing. While I agree kissing someone who is not your spouse is a bad idea, I assumed the pilot had at least been sleeping with his mistress. What the hell? Really? And the pilot's new wife is what I've read on NLQ is referred to as a Titus 2 woman. I'd bitch-slap her in a heartbeat and tell her to wake up! Okay, I digress. These movies were so much funnier when playing the drinking game. Now they're just really pathetic. Not funny at all.
I am half way done with this last one, so I'll just prepare myself for more anger and try not to throw a shoe at the TV.

(1,918 posts)While finishing the laundry this morning, I thought id finish watching the series. Terrible idea. I enjoyed it last weekend while playing a drinking game; it was funny then. But to watch this shit without alcohol? I don't recommend it.
I finished the last of the third movie about 15 minutes ago and I am still bewildered. So the cure is red wine? I get migraines from red wine. Lol if I believed that Xian shit today, I'd be funky drunk on merlot everyday (don't want the anti-Christ coming to kill me). Those books have got to be horrendous.

(9,356 posts)Cinemax is currently showing all 3 "Godfather" movies back-to-back. If you don't have C-max, sometimes they run free preview weekends.
That's a little over NINE HOURS at one sitting. I'm a serious couch 'tater and movie fan, but not even I can manage that. I got straight thru the first 2, and as I remember the third one was sort of a turkey anyhow. Though it does show the Vatican in a bad light, which is always worth watching.
(Hi, spies! There's a free quote-mine for ya!)

(1,918 posts)The DVDs in this household have gotten enough play, but you have brought on a new perspective.
Hubby tends to romanticize gang/mafia shows and movies. I try to look for religious and social implications. We're a weird match.

(18,219 posts)sober or drunk, but I suppose that curiosity really does kill the cat.
You will have to write a review of these movies when you finish the series....one that we can follow, since I have no idea what the pilot reference is all about.
Or maybe, on second thought, you should just keep the review to yourself. I am not sure I can take it.

(1,918 posts)When I really want to watch something on TV, I refuse to multi-task. But Sundays are hard because there is nothing good on (for me) during the day and I do nothing but multitask. The past two Weekends have been all about spring cleaning and washing every sheet, comforter and duvet in the house.
However, I am fully in no position to give a review of these shitty ass movies. They are terrible! It would take me months of rewatching them and making comments on paper to fully describe the crap these movies portrayed. There is so much shit in these movies that I don't even know where to begin.
I am glad spring cleaning only happens for us for a couple of weeks. I'm about ready to pull my hair out after watching these movies. My curiosity earnestly got started because my daughter is dating a pastor's son (imagine: the atheists' daughter dating the pastor's son) and I was interested in what they are saying at his church. My daughter likes it, even though she is now a self-described agnostic, because of the positive message. I can't help but think there is something insidious in the message. I figured I'd at least look into some of their propaganda. The movies are bad, but I am also learning more about this particular church. I just don't want my daughter being indoctrinated either way - she's been with grandma for the passed couple of weekends, so she had no idea what my Saturdays and Sundays recently have been like.

(18,219 posts)you work a lot more and faster when you are mad or frustrated.....so this ought to have really moved that spring cleaning along.
On edit, I will pray for your daughter.
Actually, I do hope that she stays grounded.

(1,918 posts)That last movie especially got my blood pressure up. The place was looking good until the toilet got messed up today...it just kept cycling water. I thought to myself, I'd rather fix the toilet than listen to the crap in those movies.
Daughter is currently out having lunch with her boyfriend and his family. When she gets home, she'll find that mommy was busy making beef enchiladas. And hopefully no other evidence of today's goings on. You could probably go for a good laugh: she considered herself a believer until about 3 weeks ago.
She gave up chocolate for lent (I didn't know his church participated in that), so I baked chocolate chip and almond cookies today, along with craisin-almond cookies. The least I could do is give her a choice.
It's freaking stupid anyway.
