"Noah is actually a demonic movie"

Ok so Friday on my FB page a good friend was upset about the Noah movie He went to see. Saturday another good Christian friend posted a scathing review of the movie. But the review below so far is my all time favorite. i have zero desire to watch this movie, but my christian friends hate for this movie is making it hard to pass up.

Her Review of the "god" character, is exactly how I view the god of the bible. Sounds like hollywood nailed it!

A little background on the reveiwer, she belonged to a small home church I use to attend, and she revealed to us one day, she believed we should be living by the 613 laws of the old testament. She got frustrated after while because we didn't spend every waking moment on the laws and after sending out a letter to a few members of tbe group about how horrible we were for not obeying the LAWs she left. But she never unfriended anyone on FB

As if I hadn't already shared enough about Noah, there is one more thing that I feel compelled to share with some of my friends, that I left out of my review. I don't say this lightly, but I truly believe that Noah is actually a demonic movie. Satan is the father of lies, and the extent to which the director twisted God and Noah's character, making them out to be evil through most of the movie, and largely flipping right and wrong, they went way beyond taking creative license. They dragged God's character and Noah's memory through the mud.

The villains are at times quoting the bible and following God's will as laid out in scripture, while Noah (and supposedly "the Creator&quot judge them for it. What's more demonic than making God and Noah essentially the bad guys, when it's supposed to be a story of God's justice, mercy, love, and redemption? And lest you think I'm going too far, Noah flat out preaches the doctrine of demons in the movie, by teaching that humans should be forbidden to marry and procreate (or even exist). And none of this is subtle. It is at the very heart of the plot. Church leaders who say that this movie should be seen for its good points, I think in this case, they are deeply misguided.

We do not have to search for good in Hollywood movies. God is good, and there is an accurate representation of him and his will in the bible. We just have to accept that Hollywood sometimes gets it wrong (very wrong), and they do it on purpose, because it's fun for them, and they think disrespecting the Judeo-Christian faith is art. We don't need to coddle them, make excuses for their blatant mistreatment of the bible, and the mockery they make of our faith, in the name of trying to be relevant or engage our culture by watching their terrible films. This is really a movie you can skip. There are plenty of other bible themed movies coming out this year to get people talking about the gospel.

I'm with you- I have no interest in seeing the movie myself, but it's been quite a good time watching the reactions to it.

It's worth it.

But "god" is barely a character. I think there is enough doubt in the film as to what "god" actually is. Certainly there is no voice of god, only interpretations of what characters think god might mean. But whatever the "creator" is, he's a dick. And so is Noah. Though, and I would expect that this is what really pisses off the religious, the end kind of gets to "you need to make your own decisions." Which totally isn't what the religious want to see.

confirmation of their hope that the unrighteous and heathenesque will be smitten (smited? smote?), and that they, the true believers, will get to watch, gleefully and with satisfaction. Ignoring, of course, that in the literal story they so ardently cling to, only 8 folks in the whole world passed god's muster, so their chances of being inside the boat instead of outside next time ain't that great.

that in the bible god tends to only spare a few.
and when he does save a massive amount of people like the Jews from slavery, he royally screws them over for years in the desert.

I wish they would make a movie about job, only depict god as the head a casino running numbers on the good people of earth. and when they get to the part where a house collapses on Job's Children they should do it in slow motion and carefully film how all 10 children died by slowly by being crushed by a building.

And then reshoot the painful process of his wife going through labor 10 more freaking times, in a tent in the desert, all so god could win a bet

It was called "A Serious Man" and was quite good, in that weird, dark Coen way.

how most people who actually hear from god are alone, on a mountain, in the woods, or in a field.

I think they don't like seeing the words written in the bible come to life. god killed every man women and child in the entire earth except for Noah and family, according to the flood story.
they is no way they can make that god look loving, that is what eats at them.

Isn't that the pat answer from the uber-religious?

God is good, god is merciful, god is just....and anyone who doesn't agree with it is Satan's hand puppet. Gotta love it.

By the way, how is this "friend" doing with abiding by all the OT laws?
