NakedLaw article from 2010. But I'm sure not much has changed, except for these weasels getting even richer.

I swear, every time I see Joyce Meyer my gaydar goes off as if there's a tornado bearing down on my house.
As for Copeland, he and some of his equally slimy pals were trading high-fives with old Francis at the Vatican:

God knows where the money is, and he knows how to get the money to you. -- Joyce Copeland

(9,356 posts)In 2009, Meyer's head of security was a preacher's son, Chris Coleman. He really enjoyed traveling all the world as Meyer's advance man, checking into luxury hotels to make sure nobody threatened Meyer etc.
He was the perfect Gawd-fearing, Bible-thumping Xian family man, with a wife and 2 boys aged 9 and 11.
Until his wife asked him to try and convert an old high-school friend. The friend lived in Florida, where Meyer was doing one of her dog-and-pony shows.
Before long, Coleman received a message from Gawd that he should start a new life with...his wife's friend! Since he now had a surplus wife and 2 children, he killed all three of them.
Coleman planned everything well in advance, sending threatening e-mails to himself etc. Unfortunately they all came from his own IP address, so that didn't take long to figure out.
The whole horrible story here:

Just what does it take to cross that threshold where you can claim that you're a "non-profit" religious organization? There doesn't appear to be one! And folks have the nerve to call atheists "untrustworthy". Yeah, by gum.

Don't bother asking me why I hate religion. These are the slime who would be smitten by a god if one existed. Instead, they prosper. How can anyone fall for this shit?

I already had a loathing for the tax-exempt status of churches, and all that goes with a "church".
