(68,644 posts)Have you looked into the connection between your disruptive tendencies and the ten commandments, which have probably been removed from your local schools and libraries, thanks to Bengazi???

(21,046 posts)I was told that my experiencing negative sermons about how worthless we are was not the way it is, according to a frequent non-atheist poster in the Religion sub-forum Religion.
However, these people refuse to explain their beliefs. I ask them a simple question about what is in their creed or statement of belief and they refuse to answer. Very strange. Or they admit they stand up and recite creeds they don't believe in.

(9,356 posts)*"Drones" as in remote-controlled flying things. Not a reference to any droning, verbally diarrhetic denizens of any DU group. Especially not a reference to such individuals as "Cut & Paste Aquinas" in one specific group. For further disclaimers, call my lawyer, she can always use more business.

(4,549 posts)On Wed Aug 13, 2014, 09:16 PM an alert was sent on the following post:
Me too. We need drones.*

REASON FOR ALERT
This post is disruptive, hurtful, rude, insensitive, over-the-top, or otherwise inappropriate.
ALERTER'S COMMENTS
Drones? Are you kidding me! Drones for people they disagree with is disgusting.
You served on a randomly-selected Jury of DU members which reviewed this post. The review was completed at Wed Aug 13, 2014, 09:40 PM, and the Jury voted 1-6 to LEAVE IT.
Juror #1 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: What is this thread about? Having failed to determine that, I vote to LEAVE IT and recommend putting this thread in the Lounge where most nonsense is entertaining.
Juror #2 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: No explanation given
Juror #3 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: No explanation given
Juror #4 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: I do not know what this means.
Juror #5 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: The Alerter misses the point. I believe this use of drone is a homonym.
Juror #6 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: No explanation given
Juror #7 voted to HIDE IT
Explanation: No explanation given
Thank you very much for participating in our Jury system, and we hope you will be able to participate again in the future.

(48,181 posts)one has "no idea what's happening", instead of avoiding the issue, just vote leave. People get their jollies off of alert trolling, and they do so by alerting the shit out of everything posted by their targets. Walking away from an incomprehensible alert is helping that effort.
Agschmid
(28,749 posts)It's been pointed out repeatedly in ATA that alert trolling isn't a problem. Also if I don't even understand a post or the intention of a post how can I make an informed decision.
There are always other DUers who can serve and who might have a clue as to what is going on.
My default vote is leave, but if I can't make an informed decision I don't.
Warren Stupidity
(48,181 posts)Quite frankly that is just not believable. But if they were to open up the alert records in the interests of transparency, I could be persuaded otherwise.
If you can't tell if a post is a personal insult etc. it isn't. Your default vote is actually "I'll let some other person decide".

(7,753 posts)For people who have a reason for not recognizing it then of course it wouldn't be a problem.
Just like the fact that the jury system is just the bestest thing ever.

Remember that the term "poopy-head" is DEEPLY insulting to the point of anguish and obviously TOTALLY serious.... especially when conflated with "Banana Cream" or any "Pie".

(9,356 posts)So I'm sitting here catching up on DU while watching the Charlie Chaplin movie "The Great Dictator."
The two things melded in my alleged mind, and I suddenly found myself thinking: "Damn, if DU had existed in 1940, I bet Adolf Hitler would have alerted on Charlie Chaplin's vicious personal attack!"

(9,356 posts)Especially since my reference to "drones" wasn't an offer to aerially attack anybody.
Unarmed drones also exist, and they are used for...SPYING! Which is really what I was alluding to in the Bad Post. That we need our own spy drones, since somebody ALWAYS seems to be poking their noses in here to see what we're up to.
I'm surprised nobody alerted on me for mentioning spies a few days ago, and posting the logo of SMERSH ("Death to Spies." Some oversensitive type could have surely alerted on that as a "death threat."
