(2,101 posts)Lately its been so hard to put my faith into computers, you know, with all the trouble they had with the pictures in the cloud last week. It got me to thinking about how when seeing people pray they always slant their eyes up toward it. Maybe the decoder ring can help me decipher whats up there. What do you think?

(2,101 posts)When I opened the window to point the ring all the smoke just billowed right out! There it was, I swear on my colander the cloud was there! And I didn't even have to chant prayers or anything. Oh, here's the best part, guess whose face was is in the smoke?
One more thing. That damned rubber chicken is what smoked up the house. I only had it on 350 for a little while. I hope next years chicken gets sent with better cooking commandments.

(2,101 posts)I saw the voice. It was coming out of the speaker that caught fire when I took that burning chicken out of the oven. The smoke oscillated with every word. Now that the smoke is cleared there can't be any pictures, unless maybe the beacon was made into an icon and used instead. HQ's won't care.
Gelliebeans
(5,043 posts)We are evil remember we need that pesky evidence. I know it sounds like I'm kicking it up but head quarters have sent a memo and they need photographic evidence.
I'm sure if you use memory stick (you will find the beacon on a piece of toast or something)

(57,349 posts)I know the budget's tight but the neighbor kid chopped the head off mine. I ate the kid but still can't find the chicken head.
Also are the new decoder rings projecting a rubber chicken in the sky as a beacon or has that changed (if so I'll have to get mine upgraded)?
Gelliebeans
(5,043 posts)Marvel comics (u missed that meeting) we are going with batcat (as soon as I get a moment I will post a pic so you will see. The Chicken is fine but keep track of it and don't let kids near it. They eat everything. (don't tell the others).

(57,349 posts)I want a rubber BatCat suit! My old Lt. Uhura costume is lame.
Oh I forgot to tell you, I sold the kid and got a dog instead. They eat everything too but they throw it up immediately afterward. No more costly trips to the ER, just hose the item off and it's all good.
Mr bmus is pissed though, cuz the kid was his, but he likes Maggie too and she's cheaper to feed.

(5,043 posts)I knew you would be up for the task. Baby ale will be purrrrfect. Did you see our new beacon in the thread? We still have rubber chickens of course but in order to rally the troops we needed a way for them to recognize us and batcat fit the bill

(5,043 posts)And I didn't answer your question....
We need a box of wine (must be a box)
Of course your chicken helmet and ring and your id badge and you are good to go ohhhh and the blood of a virgin if you can manage it. Extra points if she is pregnant.

Oh and Bon Scott was way better than Brian Johnson.

(5,043 posts)I'm a metal head but more like iron maiden Metalica and such....the bands Tipper Gore and Alan Simpson were infatuated with in those lame senate hearings in the 80's.
Because they didn't like rock and roll!!!!
Ozzy will be our master of ceremonies this next meeting but he has to bring Sharon along as an interpreter (not because of his Birmingham accent) because of his incoherent alcohol induced ramblings. We have asked them not to bring a bat out of respect for our new mascot batcat see pic in thread
no heads will be removed.

(21,046 posts)The old AC/DC and stuff I heard on the radio is good circa 1980. Angus Young plays amazingly complex leads that are interesting. Never got into Iron Maiden. I'm more into 70s and 80s rock. I didn't particularly like Rush or Journey or Van Halen. As far as 60s rock, I like the Kinks and The Who for their bad attitude. Ray Davies is a much better songwriter than Pete Townshend. Ray Davies has written much better rock operas than Pete.
I was into prog rock like Yes and ELP. As a piano player, I wanted to be Rick Wakeman when I grew up. I gave up on rock when The Police broke up in 1983 right after they were on top of the world with the Synchronicity tour. Their stuff was complex enough to be interesting to me. Andy Summers is into classical and jazz. It doesn't surprise me.
I started out taking classical lessons and classical is my first love. Then comes chamber music, opera, jazz and rock.
There was still some decent stuff coming out in the 80s but I REALLY gave up when grunge hit. Blech!!!!
I've watched some of the testimony by Frank Zappa and Dee Snider. Those stuffed shirts in DC were amazed that rock stars could be articulate and concerned about their children's music consumption. I was proud of Zappa for calling Tipper Gore a "cultural terrorist". The suits on the committee misinterpreted a lot of lyrics and they were put in their place.
They were probably freaked out by AC/DC as well, but they weren't American. I think the devil horns were a joke.
Gelliebeans
(5,043 posts)My boyfriend at the time was in a band in high school (which played covers for those bands I mentioned)
When we talked twenty years later I talked him into selling his motorcycle (IMO only a death trap or at least a bell ringer) and buying drums, he started playing again and playing great!!!
I have eclectic taste and listen to just about everything then and even now. Jazz is another fave.
In the 80's we would go to Griffith park observatory in Los Angeles and they would have a laser show while playing Floyd. Various psychedelics intensified the effect (was not partaking because someone had to drive) but that was the general idea
Big Pink Floyd fan hear (Waters over Gilmore)
Most definitely a joke with the horns (those Aussies knew how to rock out) too bad Bon Scott overdid the partying and died at 33. Brian Johnson has been a good replacement though, 1980's Back in Black is proof.
Gelliebeans
(5,043 posts)Was so instrumental in so many bands

(21,046 posts)He was commenting on society and people did not get it.
Kind of like the people in the 19th century who thought that Brahms symphonies were "noise". And now we consider that very soothing 19th century Romanticism.
The waltz of the early 19th century was indecent because a young man could actually hold a young woman in his arms, and we all know what that leads to.
Gelliebeans
(5,043 posts)Just kidding.
I know exactly what you mean.
Isn't it funny that there has always been some old guy to complain about music and how the racket makes it hard for him to think. I can only imagine what they will think 100 years from now.
I love classical too. Vivaldi and Bach are some of my favorites and I liked Debussy before it was made popular again by Ocean's Eleven and the Twilight movies.
