New papal commission appointed to streamline annulment process

http://www.catholicculture.org/news/headlines/index.cfm?storyid=22675
Pope Francis has appointed a special commission to study a possible simplification of the process of obtaining marriage annulments.

The Vatican announced on September 22 that the Pope had asked the commission to “focus on the preparation of a proposal for the reform of the marriage annulment process, seeking to simplify and streamline the procedure, while safeguarding the principle of the indissoluble nature of marriage.”

Change is coming! Only it's not change, just "streamlining." And it still has to get past the bishops, but not really, since the wonderpope could just announce it. But then he would be dealt with in a certain manner, if you get my meaning.

So here's to streamlining the process of dissolving marriages that by holy decree are indissoluble!

Is there a separate book from the bible that codifies all the "change" ... I can't seem to find it in the bible about "annulments" and "naming popes" and such ....

Found it by Googling "rich Catholics always get annulments."

And somewhere, deep in the black bowels of the bunker housing the Google/NSA interface, a surveillance agent is saying: "I always wondered about that myself..."

I like the one below it:

"Neither myself nor my former spouse were Catholic, why must I go through the process of declaring my marriage null?"

If you're not Catholic, then why are you going to them regarding anything? just hit up the court house.

Since a former spouse is mentioned, I'm guessing this is a divorced non-Catholic trying to marry a current Catholic. And the Catholic person is insisting that the previous marriage be annulled according to the Laws of the Church.

I believe this particular law is laid down somewhere in the Bible as: "Every knee shall bow, every wallet shall open."

Why is the Catholic Church acknowledging it?

I guess that law you quoted applies.

I hate to think what might have happened if she'd been granted an annulment from her abusive first husband when she originally made the request.

I mean, I might have been raised a catholic.

The horror!
