Quiz and I got 93% on my knowledge of the various religions.

(I know it doesn't count because it was online)
Forgot link to it and can't seem to find it but it is somewhere around here among the religion or atheist forum.

I mean, come on, Athena was born out of Zeus' head? That makes NO SENSE. What does make sense is that a young woman named Mary got knocked up by an angry sky god, stayed a virgin, and gave birth to a carpenter who turned out to be a zombie who will return to Earth to save us one day. That's just logic right there!

...because Xianity put them out of business, once it was firmly established as the Official Religion of the Roman Empire. Science really didn't have anything to do with it.

I still say all the trouble started with that liberal wimp Nero, and his regrettable lack of a few more lions.

Even if you learned about said children by stalking the A&A group, it's not at all creepy to be aggressive with someone and then drag their toddler children into -asking how they are doing - as if you are someone's best friend. Hint: when you do this after being aggressive, it kind of makes someone feel like you are threatening their children.

Taking a break from DU... fuck this place. Have a great night.

I realize now that that sounded like "an extended break". More like - for the rest of the afternoon/night.

However, that behavior does keep me from wanting to go to the religion group. I've decided to put that person on ignore...as much as I hate how it removes all the sub-threads, I just don't think I can have a conversation with someone like that.

I think "Discussion Board" = "conversation"... but then others don't.

And I'm not too great at joining a congregation so I think it'll save my blood pressure to just ignore them. I don't really have fun beating my head against a brick wall.

nor are motivated to do anything because of their beliefs.

All actions are do to other influences and what God wants them to do has nothing to do with it.

Atheists want to silence you

The New Atheist Worldview™ is flawed

The Vatican has stunned the world with its new found love for gay people, its "Dramatic Shift In Attitude/Tone" is good news and A Big Deal. Also we critics and naysayers should be ashamed of being so negative in the face of progress

Posting "Dupe" and a link to the duplicate thread is making it personal by chastising the thread starter

Religion has everything to do with winning the Nobel Peace Prize because a religious person won it, the assassination attempt by religious misogynists the winner survived so she could win the award has nothing to do with religion

Dawkins is still being used for target practice by the Manufactured Outrage Is Us faction

And last, but not least, many of us have learned to avoid the traps, but kudos to the ones who don't and fight the good fight anyway.

Heddi helped edjumacate me too.
