Happy Halloween...and my Weird Hobby comes thru...

I may not believe in any of the rigamarole surrounding Halloween, but I still insist on celebrating it. Atheist or not!

So my big bowl of goodies is ready and in a couple hours I'm hoping for some visitors. Except I live in a security bldg. and they usually don't bother. Last year I got NO trick-or-treaters. So I took the Bowl Of Evil and walked around the neighborhood until all the candy was gone. Reverse trick-or-treating!

But I already had a Happy Halloween. Went to my local hobby shop today and found the...interesting scale model kit below. The figures are 1/35 scale, or about as tall as your index finger.

I really like the inclusiveness of this kit. One zombie is a Black policewoman, and the nurse is also female (the one crawling). Our brave heroine on the bike is obviously a woman, and may be a Muslim wearing hijab. Except she's also wearing black stockings and (presumably) a garter belt. So maybe she's on the run from The Garden of Allah Gentlemen's Club or something...

MasterBox is a Ukrainian company who does a lot of military scale model kits. They've really broken the mold (no pun intended) of only turning out figure sets of soldiers/weapons. Quite a few of their kits include civilians, women, kids, animals etc. I'm looking forward to more from Zombieland!

So Halloween is probably my favorite holiday!

That is an awesome looking model kit. But what does it mean by "This kit is not completed by a model of a motorcycle?" I hope that does not mean that the bike isn't in the kit, because it is particularly cool.

No motorcycle in the kit. Which irked me too. But lots of companies make 1/35 scale motorcycle kits.

Everything from German BMW & Zundapps, to American Harley WLA-45s, to oddities like the Russian R-16 copy of the BMW. Some of the kits are insanely detailed, with stuff like photo-etched metal wheels (to get those fine spokes).

So the real question is why do we have that bowl of candy, and only my wife can answer that.

It was too rainy, windy and cold. That's alright because I get to eat up all the Reese's peanut butter cups. I only buy candy that I like so I can eat the leftovers.

and handed them out. Boy I was tired Friday night after busting ass cooking all afternoon!

We live in a no-fun zone where the churches have appropriated the holiday, and kids want to dress up and have fun.
They really appreciate the effort we take to decorate the front porch and hand out good candy. One lady told me I'm famous in town for my cupcakes. I've made them before.
