Hey, you guys suck

at politics.

Lucky for us we're not running for office.

I just wanna say this group is awesome.

Sure, we post about all things atheist, but we also discuss science, culture, history, philosophy, employment issues, families, what we love, what we hate, and everything else in this godless universe. We do it with humour and attitude and no apologies.

It's not easy being an atheist in this country, and it's certainly not easy being a religious contrarian on DU. But still you sigh, you do a face palm and you point out the obvious. Sometimes you piss people off, sometimes you don't, but you always make people think.

So don't change a thing.

You guys have always been here for me and now you're stuck with me - I'm not going anywhere. This is my destination on DU, I come here first, I come here when life's treating me well and especially when it's not.

Rock on, heathens.

Ignorance can be fixed. Willful ignorance that spits hate at people who aren't willfully ignorant is not only permanent, it's just not worth dealing with.

Rather than admitting that maybe, just MAYBE, religion isn't always rainbows and jellybeans. I'll take their hatred and nastiness, only shows what pathetic individuals they are.

I also feel comfortable here and enjoy the posts. I also am grateful for the reinforcement of my non-belief, since I am surrounded IRL by true believers. To know that we are not alone is comforting.

Thanks to all who keep me sane.

Of all the creepy things I've ever been told about religion, the idea that I'm being "watched" 24/7 is the worst.

That it's meant to be comforting is extremely disturbing.

Having seen failed alerts against my posts in which the alerter BLATANTLY FUCKING LIED about what I said (trying to sway a lazy jury, undoubtedly), I am convinced the poor souls with their impotent rage have nothing else to do in their pathetic lives.

It's nice to come here and know that you aren't completely alone in your quest for knowledge or affirmation from being frustrated with society.
You are right some things we don't agree on but it's still nice to have a home.
