(33,587 posts)probably has more to back up his claim.
Kim gave him the opportunity to train and go to the Olympics.

(17,505 posts)there is that.
Except, I would guess it was more of a requirement than an opportunity.

(3,595 posts)You see, there are a lot of people on this board who aren't too good at reading, take too many things literally and get insulted at the littlest thing.
To avoid this post being alerted, I suggest you put the scarcasm thingy on it. Then put a p.s. "Referring to the possibility of the existence of an unreal ...... is meant to be a joke."
The post might be left alone after that.
I suspect my suggestion to you will also result in an alert.

It's all laid out in their very own Big Magical Book of Smitings, Irrational Punishings, Infanticide, Worldwide Drownings, Plagues, and General Mass Murder.

(16,296 posts)there is really not that much of a difference with that flood thing and Joshua being ordered to kill every man, women, and child in various conquered cities, and Abraham told to sacrifice his son, etc., etc.

(9,019 posts)...but Om really HAS to thank Kim or he wouldn't be there; Allyson has been brainwashed to think that god did it for her.
Another similarity is that they both have innate ability.

Crediting God means God gave you a gift he didn't give anyone else. You imply, ipso facto, that you are favored in some way; or at least believe yourself favored.
Yet, somehow, crediting yourself for the all the hard work and practice you put into your particular craft is considered arrogant. Go figure.

(9,356 posts)It's medals. Judging by this lineup of North Korean generals. Mr. Choi may have won a few of these dazzlers for his achievements, or at least their civilian versions.
NK hasn't fought a war in over 60 years, so I have to wonder what all those medals are for. Maybe they're some clever NK version of body armor or something.
Memo, all Pentagon staff - invasion of North Korea imminent, prepare very large magnets...

(20,805 posts)... and not humble at all... but more than that it diminishes all of the effort and hard work the athlete put into the result themselves.... the same way addicts claim god helped them overcome addiction, when in fact the hard yards were put in by the recovering addict themselves... and, as an aside, where was god when they were getting hooked in the first place? Helping someone else run a sub 10 second 100 meters?
All completely daft.
