"WE COULDN'T SEE THAT COMING" - The Inevitability of Charlie Hebdo

Piercingly honest Sunni Muslim Mullah Liam Al-Deen does it again: "Don't say this has nothing to do with Islam"

I found this through Maajid Nawaz's Facebook page. He's the author of "Radical: My Journey Out Of Islamist Extremism" and I have really been interested in his take on this. If you're interested, too: https://www.facebook.com/MaajidNawazFanPage

"Non-muslims aren't stupid. If they have any interest at all they're going to find out."

Any interest? Hell, they can't stop singing "Kumbaya" with their fingers jammed in their ears long enough to be interested.

Very nice find. Thanks for posting.

It's right there. In plain sight. Death to those who insult the Prophet. It certainly is part of the religion.

Just like death for adultery is part of Christianity. It's just that Christianity doesn't enforce that penalty anymore, even if there are a few fringe Christian groups who advocate for penalties like that. Fortunately they don't spawn vigilantes who go off killing adulterers because their holy book says to do it.

He's right. Denying that killing is part of Islam is not being honest.

"Let's try to be honest," he says at the very end. Good idea, so we can all recoil at your medieval ways and reject it en masse.

I forgot about Tiller. Fortunately, the vigilantes are few and far between. I guess that's different in a way, in that there is no prohibition against abortion in the Bible. From another angle, it's worse, because Christians are making shit up that isn't in the Bible and getting irate about it.

However christianity has a history of being hyper-violent, just see the inquisition. I think the aversion to violence is due to the fact that the current society christianity must inhabit has this aversion to violence. As society advanced the religion was forced to advance, kicking and screaming, with it. It is very clear to me that the fundamentalist faction of christianity is actively striving to take us back to that level of society that the inquisition was considered acceptable. They are doing this with the silent consent of their moderate fellows.

Islam unfortunately originates from an society who's advancement was held back by prolonged poverty and the ensuing desperation of the people. For them violence is far less taboo due to this.
