Strong-minded, vocal atheists claim that God isn't science and science isn't God. But the implication that faith is irrational and only science knows the truth has no basis in fact.

I feel for people who get stuck in any belief system, including rigid skepticism.

(12,799 posts)I prefer not to substitute one unproven religion with another and name it "spirituality." But as long as the spiritual but not religious don't formulate laws to lay down for all humankind for all time, I have little argument with it. If Deepak thinks that limits me, that's ok. Because I can't help it, every time I see his name I

(101,321 posts)Chopra has been well 'rewarded' at the bank for his 'deepities' that far too many people repeat as if they have any meaning. He's the king of vague "there is something connecting everything, and it's all unprovable but obviously true to people who don't worry about evidence" BS.

(33,587 posts)with organizations like the Center for Inquiry, have done a good job highlighting the nonsensical bullshit that Chopra spouts.
Seem like they touched a nerve.
"Rigid skepticism" would be that any claim, no matter what it is, should be questioned and investigated.
It's not a belief system Deepak.

(17,505 posts)And Deepak, Deary, science is a disciplined method of investigating phenomena..... involving observation, experimentation and confirmation. Science can't "know" anything and the only "truth" involved is where the evidence leads.... no matter where the evidence leads...
He's so slack and sloppy, like any psychic or religious guru....especially the way he (mis)uses big words!
