I'm still not religious.

Hah....just thought you fundies might wanna know.

I'm going through my third last chemo and it's fucking hell. I went through a major operation that involved getting my guts cut up and it was hell. I have a temporary ileostomy that is usually fine, but today was hell.

And despite being in the darkest and hardest phase in my life, and having people try to take advantage of it, I still haven't been converted. Heck, if anything, I despise religion more than ever. All the prayers do jack shit. I feel no one looking out for me aside from my friends and family.

And when I win this battle with cancer, god isn't getting shit from me. I thank my doctors. I thank my fiancé. I thank the researchers, scientists, and lab techs who gave me a chance at surviving.

This atheist got into and out of the foxhole unconverted. Bitches better recognize.

an unspecialized cell didn't land on my lungs or liver to cause further problems down the road. Two more chemos, one more month, and I'm home free. Only problem is that every chemo is worse than the one before and I'm weak as fuck from the operation, losing 20 pounds, and not getting exercise.

I know a couple of atheists who have won the battle, I will be adding your name to that list. Nevermind "god" nonsense, what we need for such battles is "fight". I know if I lose my fight I may as well lay down and die. I have lost it briefly at times, as you may for fleeting moments during your battle. Still, when your fight returns you appreciate it all the more and face the battle with new strength. At least that's how it works in my world, I know we're all different.

Looking forward for many posts to come from you! You're inspiring!

and no god ever had the decency to present himself to me, either.

Foxhole and deathbed conversions are a myth. The most the religious can expect is lip service to stop their bullying.

It's great to see you write "WHEN" I win this battle - not "if." What a great attitude.

I'll try to remember this post whenever I start to whine about something trivial in my own life...

There's more to the study: worst outcomes? Acceptors.

Another group that does well is the people that just flat out deny everything. There's nothing wrong with me! They do well.

Strange world.

You guys are the best. I just took a handful of pills so I'm feeling better. Ever takin' dilaudid? It's like little pieces of heaven.

I just can't believe how any one can feel god when they are going through shit like this. Even with people helping me, I usually feel utterly alone. Only when I talk to others with cancer do I feel understanding.

Oh, wait...not true. When they gave me IV dilaudid at the hospital for kidney stones(which I am getting with more frequency because of the ileostomy), I think I may have felt god. All 4 mg of him lmao.
