Strong, dry hot winds worsen in San Diego County.

SDG&E has turned off power in some areas to prevent sparks from igniting. Record breaking heat (over 100 degrees) continues to keep schools closed in one of the nation's largest school districts.

Our two biggest fires occurred at the same time in Oct (200,000-300,000 acres and 2,000+ buildings were burned and destroyed in each of the Cedar-2003 and Witch-2007 fires). Now we have large planes and computers to help the fire fighters when it happens again (and it will...a matter of time).
