I can be just as outgoing as the next person, but I need an equal amount of alone time.

but if I'd had to face anyone more demanding than a couple of quiet kitties when I got home, I'd have gone stark raving bonkers very quickly.

We introverts aren't antisocial at all. We just need time to recharge our batteries because social interaction can be draining. We can turn it on with the noisiest of extroverts.

Extroverts, on the other hand, tend to go crazy if they're disconnected from the world by being snowed in with the phones out. That sort of thing is very restful to us.

And the twain will never meet, I'm afraid. We understand them a hell of a lot better than they can understand us.
