I must admit a secret attraction to J-pop.

I think it is because I grew up here in the West with Italo Disco in the 80's as a teen and college student.

I am generally not a big pop fan, however, I appreciate 'love' pop - songs that seem to reflect an innocence of young love or infatuation that is so often lost as we grow up. It is, of course, important to mature psychological, and it is equally important to experience that fresh, young love as well.

So much pop in America today is so over-the-top in its blatant sexuality and a complete loss of innocence. Yet the supposed sophistication is not commiserate with actual maturity or experience at that age. I guess it is just more surface persona sadly.

Thanks for these videos. I did not know of Momoiro Clover. I have always liked Yellow Magic Orchestra. I also was introduced recently to Ayumi Hamasaki who has a stunning voice. As a gamer, I also enjoy the Touhou bullet hell shooters which includes a lot of great Japanese synth-pop. My current favorite is Bad Apple.

And this one as well.
