I would just rather have a Kotatsu.

They do have special desk kotatsu.

Cover be warmer?

Actually, it's funny. I realize we have like 4 あしこたつ in the house already! I'll use one with a cover over my desk!

It's probably 30 years old but still works. I guess they used to put these in their futons when they slept.

That the Kotatsu has a heater attached to the under side of the table. She simply throws a blanket over the table and sits with her legs under the table. Since the Legs make up the majority of the body.. she stays warm, during the winter months.

From my POV, heating an entire house is madness.

Plus Japanese families stay closer.
