Update about the Mt. Ontake hikers (Japan)

According to today's news, 55 deaths resulting from the eruption of the Ontake volcano, which occurred on September 27, have been confirmed. Of those victims, 20 were killed instantly by volcanic rock that was being spewed 300km/180 miles per hour (roughly the speed of the fastest Japanese bullet train) which impacted their heads and/or necks. 34 others were killed by multiple impacts on their upper torsos by flying volcanic rock. One person died from burns to breathing passages. Nine people are still unaccounted for.
