Less than .1% of the population is Christian, and yet ...people from the US and other countries still try to send missionaries to Japan. The people there, don't want it nor need it, and of course its considered very bad luck to to join the Christian Religion. This goes back to the days when the Shogun had many Christians killed, and banned the religion and most foreigners from the country.
