My mom passed away in 2011 and yes, she was a lazy moocher, too.

She had been in assisted living for several years due to dementia and longstanding health issues. She had been collecting Social Security widow's benefits since 2000, and hadn't earned much interest off her small estate that my dad left her in recent years. It had been a LONG time since she had to pay any sort of federal taxes at all. When she died her money was virtually all gone.

Rmoney believes that people like her need to take responsibility for themselves and not feel entitled to a handout. In her case, that would translate to a death on the streets due to a major stroke or simple starvation, or even a violent death at the hands of someone who saw the need to take advantage of her mental status to steal the clothes off her back.

Rmoney may now go fuck himself with a rubber hose for all I care.

He passed away in a military hospital and never paid a dime for his medical care there. Effin' entitled slacker.

Oh, and the ultimate irony: he was in fact a victim of the tobacco companies in concert with the makers of Agent Orange and the US DOE with their aboveground nuclear testing. But you'd never know it from his attitude. He was a workin' dog.

I lost my mom in 2011 too and can completely relate to your post. What happened to our moms has happened and will happen to many parents. It doesn't make sense that people who've worked hard all of their lives end up with health issues, lose everything, and then are used as part of a blatantly false Republican myth/wet dream scenario. It's unacceptable, and we here at DU know better.

And your last sentence? Ditto!

backbone of this country. she forget I am sure more about grace and fortitude in her life than Romney will ever know. I hug you and your mom. She was part of the 47% who held this country up.

35 years of her life because of her severe mental illness (schizophrenia). Kept her from ever being able to keep even a P/T job for long.

But to Rmoney she was just irresponsible and felt entitled.

They ended up broke, lived off of Soc Sec, Medicare/Medicaid. Without these social programs, I cannot imagine what would have happened to them. No one in our family could afford to keep up with them and their expenses. And now 1/2 of the family is unemployed, without benefits. Its pretty sad what's going on in this country. And Rmoney wants to take entitlements away? Think again.
