Do Iowans deserve to know Bernie Sanders tax plan before the Iowa caucuses on February 1?

http://thinkprogress.org/economy/2015/11/16/3722465/sanders-90-percent-tax-rate-debate/
Excerpt:

During the second Democratic presidential debate on Saturday evening, Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) said he would not try to raise the top tax rate to 90 percent if elected.

Moderator John Dickerson asked him exactly how high he would raise the rate, given that Sanders has previously said he would increase it from its current level of 39.6 percent to above 50 percent. “We haven’t come up with an exact number yet,” he responded. “But it will not be as high as the number under Dwight D. Eisenhower, which was 90 percent.”

Sanders promises to release full tax plan before Iowa caucuses

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) said on Sunday he will release his full tax platform before the Iowa caucuses on Feb. 1.

“We have been very specific. We have more to do, and we will be doing that in the very near future,” the Democratic presidential candidate said of his tax plan on CNN’s “State of the Union.”

When pressed about whether the full plan will be available to voters in Iowa before they cast ballots, Sanders responded: “Yep.”

Pundits have questioned how Sanders proposes to pay for his spending platform, which The Wall Street Journal estimates will cost $15 trillion over 10 years.

Is Bernie a man of his word or is he going to keep Iowans in the dark?

REASON FOR ALERT

This post is disruptive, hurtful, rude, insensitive, over-the-top, or otherwise inappropriate.

ALERTER'S COMMENTS

The post title speaks for itself.

You served on a randomly-selected Jury of DU members which reviewed this post. The review was completed at Wed Jan 13, 2016, 09:50 AM, and the Jury voted 2-5 to LEAVE IT.

Juror #1 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: Ask a silly question, get a silly answer.
Juror #2 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: It's just an inapt and clumsy take-off on an old standard reply to a loaded question.
Juror #3 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: Actually, the question is a classic example of how some inquiries are loaded and already presume guilt.
Juror #4 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: OFFS. It's a well known phrase. I'm not sure it applies in this case, but still. Alerter: you need a much, much thicker skin to successfully participate on a political discussion board.
Juror #5 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: A known phrase with no correct answer.....I understand the use of the phrase.
Juror #6 voted to HIDE IT
Explanation: that term really needs to be retired. I hate to do this but will have to vote to hide...
Juror #7 voted to HIDE IT
Explanation: Was this supposed to be biting satire? I don't see it.

Thank you very much for participating in our Jury system, and we hope you will be able to participate again in the future.

With a current debt/GDP ratio of 65% (the same as it was AFTER the New Deal, an all time high until now), there's no way to start his Roosevelt era programs unless he increases taxes, not only to well over 50% on wealthy earners, but on working/middle class earners as well.

for example, California put a cap on property taxes and people saved money (sort of) at the cost of libraries and public parks closing. Sometimes higher taxes bring a better quality of life, Taxes are not the be all and end all of life. The rich like to claim they are being taxed to death when they are paying a much smaller amount of the cost of life, I often wonder if anyone will ever ask Ted Cruz if he is fine with the military shutting down and going away after he closes the IRS and there is no income to support the government. I mean the guy keeps threatening wars, is he going to be like the dog that barks at a big dog and them wants to hide behind mommies knees, but whoa! mommy is not there? (that would be my dog, heh, when she does that I like to sneak away and hide from her at the dog park.)

18 days left to do that. I watched the Dana Bash interview and just as the interview was ending, she asked that question and he answered it directly. And her very first question was, "Do Iowa voters deserve to see your tax plan before the Iowa caucuses?" And Bernie replied, "THEY SURE DO."

So WTF is your problem here? He doesn't work on your schedule or HRH's schedule. He'll release it when it's ready and when 'he' wants to release it...not when Alfresco and HRH want him to.

We have lots of documentation of politicians who can't seem to tell the truth. We have candidates who have words like Liar and Dishonest pop up in word clouds. I think we should spend a LOT more time talking about who can and cannot be trusted, and who has and has not been caught in lies.

I don't support the liar candidate; I hope that answers your question.

dont know anything about government, taxes, budgets, toothpaste (oops, sorry about that last one)

GOP has no intention of working with either of our people on anything, and least of all raising taxes ONE DOLLAR let alone what Bernie will propose.

That isnt all bad however. When the people hear what needs to be done, and have it explained why, and then they see the GOP refusing to do anything about it, well that can work for us in the long run.

But plan on it being 8 yrs minimum.
