2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumCharlie Cook: For Clinton, It’s Time to Stay Cool in Iowa and New Hampshire
National Journal:...snip...
The Clinton campaigns challenge is to replicate as closely as possible the support and voter turnout levels that the Obama campaign managed in 2008 and 2012. It will be extremely difficult to do. The fact that she turns 69 in September doesnt help, because she could face a Republican opponent nearly a quarter-century younger. Certain GOP nominees might drive up Democratic turnout for her, but others might not seem as threatening, raising the possibility that many Democratic voters will stay at home.
A hard move to the left would make her job of winning over independent and moderate voters in the general election even more challenging. Independents tend to have very complicated views of Clinton, seeing her on one hand as smart, knowledgeable, and competent, but on the other hand as not particularly likable or trustworthy. Big ideological swings over the course of the campaign arent likely to help her credibility.
It cant be fun for Clinton to be Sanderss piñata this month and next, but for March 1 on, it shouldnt be that bad, and there is no point winning the nomination if you render yourself unelectable in the fall.

Or you could respond to Charlie Cook's advice, as that's the subject of the OP

(44,183 posts)2. No it is campaign advice from a pundit.
I notice you post this phrase a lot.
I imagine that you have a macro that types out "Is this another 'poor Hillary' OP?" when you hit a single key.
So I'm assuming you hit it by accident this time.

(50,414 posts)3. I wouldn't call twice "a lot".
Next time I'll use "sad" or "tragic" or "heartbreaking" or "woeful".
Would that be "not as bad" like Hillary's politics?

Of course you can do whatever you want.
Actually I think having a set of macros could be a great idea when posting on DU. We all have our catch-phrases!
Have a good afternoon.
