That rally in the rain in Milwaukee yesterday? 18,000 people showed up...

Obama: It takes more than 1 term to fix economy

(AP) – 13 hours ago

MILWAUKEE (AP) — President Barack Obama says change takes more than one term in the White House, more than one president and more than one party.

His message to thousands of cheering supporters at a rally in Milwaukee was a rebuke to rival Mitt Romney, who claims Obama's policies have failed to turn the economy around.

The crowd of about 18,000 in a steady drizzle was the largest yet of Obama's reelection campaign. It was Obama's first appearance in Wisconsin since February.

At the rally and at two fundraising events in the state, Obama resurrected the promise at his nominating convention to create 1 million new manufacturing jobs. Wisconsin is better off than many states with a 7.5 percent unemployment rate, has seen its manufacturing industry hard hit in recent years.

And one lonely Romney yard sign (pre ryan). I always look at the cars and think- 'that's not something a 1%er would drive'. Generally they are beaters. Not many pro Obama stickers, although more are showing up.

where there are a good many Romney signs and Obama signs are rare. An Obama bumper sticker here will likely get your car keyed. Mine was in 08, so I keep my politics off the road.

My county is totally red. I have an Obama/Biden bumper sticker but am hesitant to put it on the car. Last election I had one on my bumper the local cops followed me just to intimidate me.

I live in one of the most rabid "red" areas of Michigan. Lots of Rmoney yard signs and racist bumperstickers all around. I am the sole Obama bumper stickers around.

Don't count out anything before the votes are counted. Period.

I too, live in a primarily Republican region. Joining my local Obama for America group has brought like minded people together...each of us thinking....there are more people in our community who share our vision than I thought. We make phone calls, canvass, and enjoy each other immensely. President Obama is the only genuine candidate in the race. Best wishes to all.

I live in a very red portion of the beautiful purple state of CO. Our OFA office gets one of 2 reactions - people either give us the finger as they walk past or they come running in exclaiming "OMG! I thought I was the only Dem in the county!". Most of them sign up to help in some way.

We were there and it was a great experience. The 18,000 is a low ball estimate, it was packed and the line to get in stretched over a mile, from the south entrance to Summerfest Grounds north, winding around the Discovery World and continuing past the Art Center and we were in line for four hours and it was well worth it. Some folks started lining up at 6am for Obama's appearance at 5pm. He knows how to connect to ALL people.
