If you want to know how candidates are really doing, look at states like mine.

Before I post this, we had a 7.1 earthquake about 1:30 last night that rocked my house. It slid things off shelves, everything on casters rolled around and I couldn't stand when I jumped up without holding something. It was about 98 miles from me and centered near one of the four active volcanoes that surround my town and pepper my region of Alaska. All I could think of when it happened was Bobby Jindal. Stuff has consequences.

Alaska used to be blue until oil was discovered. But I think there's hope. Here is the results of a poll taken

http://www.adn.com/article/20160123/adn-poll-alaskans-trump-sanders-president

Hillary:

Registered, no party (the largest group): 26%
Both democrats and no party voters: 33.5%

Bernie:

Registered Democrats: 41.1% (inside the margins to become a negligible margin for HRC)
Registered, no Party: 55.5%
Both Democrats and no party voters: 47.5%

He beats her by 14% in my state. Understand, the largest group of voters in my state are independents and he's killing it there too.

This is info about the process:

The survey, of 651 registered voters statewide, was conducted earlier this month by Ivan Moore Research for Alaska Dispatch News. It was not limited to likely voters and includes a swath of Alaskans perhaps unlikely to participate in the process of picking a presidential candidate: those unaffiliated with any party. More than half of Alaskan voters -- and those polled -- don’t declare a party in their voter registration, which is required to participate in party caucuses.

The poll questioned registered voters on their presidential picks based on party, if they had one to declare. Those that said they are not affiliated with a political party were given the option of selecting from a Republican-only ballot or one “with candidates of all other parties only,” in much the same way Alaska voters choose a ballot in the August primary election.

This is just the beginning. If the mainstream candidate is flopping here it makes you wonder what's happening everywhere else. Kick this.

of Bobby Jindal (honestly) when I was sliding around trying to get to the door to see if the house was still upright. Everything fell down and everything on wheels in my house had slid. Stuff fell including pictures, flowers, you name it. Its like riding rolling swells on the ocean with a sound like a freight train bearing down on you. All is well anyway. Thank you, retrowire. GO, BERNIE! By the way, in a poll here in alaska he's beating her by 14 points.

I know this sounds silly, but I'm jealous! I want to experience an Earthquake!

About 5 years ago, an Earthquake actually did happen on the East Coast and all my friends at college were talking about how they felt it!

I was at work and didn't feel a damn thing. What a let down.

and was playing the Eagles' "There's a Sweet and Peaceful Feeling"..... at 6:01 my little second story apartment shook all ways, but thankfully not down, swinging lamps hit the sides of the wall, things came off the bookcase, etc. it was the monster San Fernando Valley EQ, 1971.

Being an experienced EQer, I just lay there and listened to the song. It was surreal. I thought the DJ would come on and say we were having an EQ. But after what seemed to be a very long time of shaking, the song continued. I waited. There was dead air space. Then someone came on and made the rather tardy announcement, as it was over.

That's when I learned that there wasn't a DJ sitting by the turntable...it was on tape. You can bet that's an Eagles' song I'll never forget.

Just a little story.
