Then the young woman put the phone in her parka pocket. A middle aged man next to her said, That makes me wanna cry.
Me too, a woman added. I want to be happy about us again. Im tired of the anger everybody has.

And when the rally ended, people pushed out into the cold night, some holding hands, some others holding children, all of them holding a stake in what happens in New Hampshire in two weeks. Then they were off in the night, counting the cars on the Everett Turnpike after they came to look for America and saw Bernie Sanders.

A nation where fear of the future is simply foreign to the fiber of the country but has now become part of our politics because we are told over and over by most running for president to be very afraid each day before we ever take to the street.
I think hate is not the right word. People are angry and upset but hateful - no. Plus a lot of people talk about fear of the future - what it will be like for our children and grandchildren. I doubt Barnicle is faced with the same concerns for the future as average Americans.

Without a revitalization of what America is about, I worry greatly. It's possible Barnicle does too. Of course, hate is the wrong word as you say.

(12,685 posts)Maybe some but it goes far beyond that. People have voiced concern for the future long before the presidential election cycle started.
I'm sure there are people in the top percentages that feel the way that you do. However, in watching comments by Ellen DeGeneres and interviews of Sanders it is sometimes obvious that people that are not in the 90% fear that they are going to have to pay more taxes and their major focus is protecting what they have accumulated.

because we are told over and over by most running for president to be very afraid each day before we ever take to the street.."
That statement ignores the fact that people have been voicing concerns for what the future will be like for our children and grandchildren long before election season started. So all the fear of the future that people are feeling and voicing is not just attributable to what the candidates are saying.
